Can you hear me?

Hear me out
Before disconnecting the call
Hear me out please
I know I’m not always loud enough
I know I don’t always let on
It’s not your fault
I usually keep to myself
It’s not like you can do anything about it
I tend to hold up just fine
I say I’ll go through it and I usually do
I say yes when I wish I could have said no
It’s not your fault if I lie to myself
But hear me out
Before disconnecting the call
Look out for those gaps in our communication
Please notice my moments of hesitation
For once don’t ask me to do something
For once let me be selfish
Hear me out please
Even if the silence stretches
Even if words fail to make sense
Just wait for me to speak again
Before disconnecting the call
Hear me out please

    • Aww thank you so much Lauren! I’m so glad you got nominated, I was upset how we can only select a handful of authors when there are literally so many more I would have loved to add. Sadly, I think I’ll have to pass this nomination since I just posted about it recently. I will however answer your questions in comments under your post! Keep writing and thanks once again! ❀❀

  2. This is painful how contradicting we are with ourselves, and it is harsh how we base a full reality on mere expectations. One should indeed listen into the other’s silence and live inside his/her mind before even thinking to have relation.

  3. This poem hits my heart in a different kind of way. I really feel it, the want for someone else to please care about you, for once, to realize that something is wrong. But sometimes, people are too busy or with some, too self-absorbed to see it. It hurts. But there’s always someone who cares, never forget that. β™₯

    • Perhaps, or perhaps the radio static is too loud for them to hear above the noise. Thanks for reading this and for the overwhelming support on my blog! πŸ–€
